Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to purchase course materials?

Course materials are not included in the course tuition fee.  This keeps costs lower for everyone, by encouraging participants to reuse their materials from year-to-year (ie. when recertifying).  As well, it provides individuals with choice as to where and when they purchase their course materials.  Details information on course materials can be found on our website under each respective course.

Will I receive continuing education credits when I participate in one of your courses?

Our courses offer Healthcare Professionals the opportunity for high-quality professional development. Most regulatory/professional bodies reward members with credit for the time spent preparing for a course as well as the time spent learning during the course.  We will provide you with discipline-specific  information at the time of your course.


Is lunch provided?

Unless otherwise, lunch is not included.  Lunch may be purchased from the hospital cafeteria or nearby restaurants, or brought from home.


What is the cancellation policy?

During the registration process, all participants must read and agree to our cancellation policy.  Our cancellation policy exists to keep costs down for all participants and to ensure a fair and equitable registration and refund process.  Our cancellation policy is clearly stated on the course registration page for each specific course date.  Please see your course's registration page if you require further details.


Will I receive a receipt?

Yes.  Within a few minutes of completing a registration, a confirmation message will be sent to the email address you provided.  This message will contain important information about your course, along with an attached PDF "ticket".  The top portion of the ticket serves as your official proof of payment and tuition receipt.  If you need to access your receipt, you will need to go to www.eventbrite.ca/mytickets

Where is your office located?

We are located in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at McMaster Children's Hospital.   Office hours vary significantly according to simulation and course activities. As such, we strongly recommend that you request an appointment before visiting, by contacting us at outreach@hhsc.ca
