Introducing "Upopolis," Canada's first secure online community keeping kids in hospitals connected to each other
Tyler Cardwell, 14, a patient at McMaster Children's Hospital (MCH) tries out Upopolis, a new secure online community for young patients. Upopolis, created through a partnership between MCH, Kids' Health Links Foundation and TELUS, helps kids stay connected to friends, family and school throughout their hospital stay.
Upopolis enables children to stay connected via secure e-mail, instantly chat with other Upopolis members, share their experiences on a personal blog and on discussion boards, receive and respond to homework assignments from teachers, read exclusive kid-friendly medical information and learn about hospital events.
